A FILM BY CAROLIN SCHMITZ
MOTHER addresses the complex and ideologically charged subject of motherhood. The basis for the film are documentary interviews with six women between the age of 40 and 75 about their lives and experiences as mothers.
In the film their statements are not presented directly but with the help of a fictitious character. An actress takes over, turning the reports into a playback monologue and integrating them in the laconic depiction of a woman's everyday life.
