A patient portrayal of a small Bolivian city shot entirely through the windows of an apartment over the course of one year. All is narrated by and seen through the eyes of a filmmaker who returned to his lost love’s empty apartment in pursuit of answers and liberation.
At first the camera finds empty memories, a desperate attempt to conjure this woman back to this vacant space. I find things she left behind. Her blue shirt. The wooden crates still nailed to the kitchen walls. The glass jars filled with muña, cola de caballo, wira wira; herbs she taught me how to use. All this is still here. Did she leave them knowing I would come back? Might she come back? Everything is as it was, as I remember, but somehow different; dirtier, less proportional. The clock is stopped, the bed has no sheets. Have I moved back here?
